Revenant Saga
Become a Revenant and find the truth beyond revenge in this gothic fantasy RPG with stunning 3D battles!
After being turned into an immortal being known as a 'Revenant' and learning of the existence of a demon within him, Albert sets out on a journey to make the person who did this to him pay with their very life. However, as he runs into others along the way dealing with their own figurative demons, what is the answer he finds...?
Boasting a story that blurs the lines between good and evil, and plenty of content to go around, this is one title not to be missed! This includes a variety of unique subquests, in-battle transformation systems, as well as a weapon forging system allowing players to make entirely unique weapons as they battle in turn-based battles with 3D animation!

DUDE THAT'S A TURTLE
the definitive cruising around in a fancy car with your boys experience
final fantasy isn't what it used to be, but this is the best entry since ff10. it's a successful translation of a final fantasy world into a more realistic setting, and the chocoboys are far above the average of what you usually find in jrpg character writing.
super wacky early snes title with one of the worst soundtracks I've ever heard. definitely try this if you find nes aesthetics endearing
see, it totally works without a damsel in distress narrative
it's so funny when japanese developers make shit design decisions and then when they get criticised for it, "it's because western audiences don't get it"

this game is boring and has zero fucking flow

a game for the capitalists
oh boy, can't wait to finally give this game a try in 2021
the game design in this is very safe and orthodox, but so well-executed that the experience feels extremely smooth and flows very naturally. it's a success as a remake, too, evoking nostalgia while still being innovative enough to stand on its own feet. if it had a good story without a cringy and queerphobic "narcissistic effeminate man" anime archetype villain, this would be one of my favourite zeldas. as it is, it's shallow, but nice.

this is one of the best zeldas with very smooth gameplay and naturally flowing progression, and a success as a remake too, invoking nostalgia while still being innovative enough to stand on its own. my only gripe with the game is that is uses the cringy and queerphobic "narcissistic effeminate man" anime archetype for its villain. other than that, nice.
the writing is sometimes funny, sometimes cringy (especially the jordan peterson fanboying), but the gameplay is with few exceptions consistently rock solid
writing sometimes suffers from "quirky 2010s humour" syndrome, but is otherwise stellar most of the time. shame that the gameplay is just a series of fetch quests
lukewarm direct ripoff of the central story element from undertale
nothing but a 5/5
conceptually wonderful sequel that really tries to take off from its predecessor, but all the innovation is implemented very poorly. most of what's good in this game isn't new, and most of what's new isn't good. disappointing.
GETTIN FREAKY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT, YEAH
