The Importance of Video Games

I have always had friends and a loving family growing up but that doesn't mean I was open with them. This is where video games came into play. Video games to me were like an escape. I could turn on a system and get lost in someone else's world or create my own.The possibilities were endless.
You see I was one of those kids who would keep things to themselves and soon break down because it began to be too much to take. I'm still like this but at my worst time I had one game I could go to that would relatively take my mind off my problems and calm my emotions. That game was the "Tomb Raider" reboot. I'm not sure why it was my go to game but once I turned on my 360 and began her journey, I couldn't get enough. It made me happy. I try to explain to people why this game is important to me but they don't understand. Probably because I don't or can't tell them the full story because I don't want pity or to be labeled. I still want to seem normal so to speak, like nothing is ever wrong. That's a lie though. We all go through hardships, sometimes we handle them well or we do wrong during those times. But finding an escape does help and "Tomb Raider" was part of mine.
I don't know if anyone else has used video games to help them through their lives but if so I'm so glad. Video games don't cause violence so to speak (talking about you people who rage). They can save us and bring us closer together. It's one of the best man made creations out there and I can't wait to see what becomes of it in the near future.
