[#10] Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP, 2010)
The way that BBS reveals so many things about the overall story of KH is pretty much perfect, command decks are a great switchup of traditional KH gameplay, and can't forget that it introduced one of the best KH characters, Aqua~
[#9] Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 (DS, 2012)
The first & currently only true sequels to any of the Pokémon versions; the continuing story, the developed returning characters, the expanded Pokédex, AND the Pokémon World Tournament all made BW2 a super enjoyable improvement over BW~
[#8] Kirby's Return to Dreamland (Wii, 2011)
The first main series Kirby game on console since 64 eleven years before; I played thru with my brother & just had the greatest time with all the new abilities, bosses, and modes, & of course, the debut of my fave character, Magolor~
[#7] Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Sw, 2018)
I’m sure I don’t have to explain myself with this one lol; having every fighter return with a continuing roster of beyond amazing DLC fighters, plus the sheer creativity of Spirit battles, it’s gonna be hard for Sakurai to top this one~
[#6] Pokémon Sun & Moon (3DS, 2016)
Sun & Moon is my second favorite Pokémon generation; I absolutely adore the characters, the story, the Island Trials replacing Gyms, HMs finally being replaced by Ride Pokémon, and of course a ton of my top fave Pokémon ever are from Gen 7~
[#5] Persona 5 (PS4, 2017)
Truly one of the greatest games ever made; every party member is pretty much perfect, the story is a rollercoaster, and the gameplay & art direction are elevated to such a high degree from previous games in the series. So excited for Royal in March~
[#4] Super Mario Odyssey (Sw, 2017)
SM64 and Sunshine are two of my favorite games ever, and Odyssey perfectly recaptured that same magic of exploration and discovery; every world is gorgeous and being able to take control of enemies was an insanely fun addition to the formula~
[#3] Dust: An Elysian Tail (2012)
Other than the fact this game blessed me with my forever husband, the combat is super addicting, the sense of exploration and map completion is great, and the story and world are enticing and full of wonder~ Also Fidget is adorable & hilarious~
[#2] Shovel Knight (2014)
Perfectly captures the essence of the NES era while also keeping things fresh; the writing is fantastic and the gameplay is addicting, not to mention there’s been 4 FREE DLCs that are basically full games, SK is easily one of the greatest games ever~
[#1] UNDERTALE (2015)
Undertale totally blew away my expectations with literally every aspect of its being; the gameplay, writing, characters, soundtrack, story... One of those few games in a lifetime that completely engulfs you into its world and leaves a permanent impression~
