Portal

This game blew my mind! I picked it up back in 2016 but somehow lost my savefile and gave up instead of finishing the game. Upon finding out how short it actually is and that I could beat it in a few hours, I picked it up a few days ago. When I played it the first time, I was blown away by how the portal gun actually works. This time through, I knew how to use the gun and how to use it well, so I breezed through the early levels. The part that blew me away this time was the ending. I knew that you had a final boss fight with Glados, but I knew nothing of the setup. Glados directs you to get on a platform and you obediently get on. This platform leads you into a fire! I was playing this at 11 PM or so, and when I saw this the only thing I could think was, "SHE'S SENDING ME TO HELL!". That not only gave me chills but also spurred me on to finish the game that night. You're supposed to use the gun to get off the platform and sneak around the complex in areas you shouldn't be in. All the while, Glados is whispering in your ear, "Get back to the platform. Then you'll get your cake." The cake is a lie folks, and immensely glad I played this game. You should try it yourself if you haven't.
